The Paranormalist: The Spirits at Jay’s Grave

The Paranormalist: The Spirits at Jay’s Grave

📅 The Paranormalist – On This Day in 1978 👻

On this day in 1978, a young Graham Phillips set off on an extraordinary journey.

Hitchhiking from Wolverhampton on the back of a motorbike, Graham travelled all the way down to Bovey Tracey in Devon, where he met fellow investigators Andrew Collins and Barry King. 🏍️🌧️

From there, the three travelled to the infamous Jay’s Grave, where they pitched their tents across the road from the mysterious gravesite. Their mission? To witness the strange phenomenon at the heart of the legend…

🌹 Someone — or something — was said to replace the flowers on Jay’s grave every single day.

But who was Jay?

Nobody knows for certain. Theories range from Kitty Jay, an abandoned young woman who died by suicide, to a witch supposedly hanged during Cromwell’s time… and even a dog allegedly struck by lightning. 🕯️🐕‍🦺

That night, as torrential rain poured down, the three investigators took shelter in a rather appropriate UFO-themed tent and conducted a Ouija board session. 🛸👻

Then something extraordinary happened.

According to Andy’s diary, the ‘spirits’ appeared to demonstrate their presence by stopping the rain — but only in the immediate vicinity of the tent. 🌧️➡️☀️

Coincidence? Something paranormal? Or simply an unforgettable night on Dartmoor?

This was just one of the early investigations that would help shape Graham Phillips’ extraordinary journey into the unexplained.

📖 The story of Graham’s investigations will form part of The Paranormalist.
