The Archive of Andrew Collins
Behind every book lies a mountain of research. Here’s a glimpse into one of the archives helping to bring The Paranormalist series to life…
One of the most exciting aspects of writing the series is the wealth of original source material available to me.
The Paranormalist series follows Graham Phillips from his early years through the extraordinary events that eventually brought him into contact with fellow researcher Andrew B Collins in 1978. Their first meeting marked the beginning of a lifelong collaboration, from their investigations into Britain’s earliest reported UFO abduction case, the Aveley Abduction, to the untold, bizarre and improbable story behind the creation of Strange Phenomena magazine and the many paranormal mysteries explored during this time and Graham’s early books, The Green Stone and The Eye of Fire.
But what sources am I drawing upon beyond the published books?
Over many years, I have recorded hundreds of hours of conversations with both Graham and Andy, creating an extensive archive of audio interviews. Through Graham and his family, I also have access to a remarkable collection of photographs, documents, and personal memorabilia.
Most recently, I have been loaned Andy’s extensive personal archive, seen in the attached photo. It contains more than 300 audio cassettes from the mid-1970s to recent times, diaries, photographs, original research into the Meonia occult group, and much more! I am currently in the process of digitising this extraordinary collection.
Every photograph, recording, diary entry and document helps build a clearer picture of the events, people and mysteries that shaped these remarkable lives.
With permission, I’ll also be sharing occasional glimpses into these archives here, giving followers a rare look at some of the original material behind The Paranormalist series.
